macOS menu bar utility
Droplet
A tiny menu bar color picker for macOS that copies any on-screen color in the format you need.
Overview
What Droplet is and why it exists.
Droplet sits in the macOS menu bar and picks the color of any pixel on screen, from any app or display. The color goes straight to the clipboard as HEX, RGB, HSL, Flutter or SwiftUI code. A small "Copied" label and a water drop sound confirm each pick.
Highlights
Why people love Droplet.
Copies colors as ready-to-paste Flutter and SwiftUI code.
Works on every app and display with no extra permissions.
The story
From problem to product.
The problem
Getting an exact color out of another app usually means taking a screenshot, opening a separate tool and converting the value by hand. That is slow, and it gets worse when the color has to go into Flutter or SwiftUI code.
The approach
One shortcut or click opens the system loupe. A single pick copies the color in your chosen format, and the panel keeps your recent colors so you can copy any of them again in another format.
Under the hood
How it came together.
